Mark wolocki,
Clarinet
Mark Wolocki is the Associate Band Director at Straus Middle School in Northside ISD. At Straus he is the primary instructor for the Non-Varsity Ensembles, teaches woodwind beginners, and assists with the Varsity Concert Ensemble.
Before coming to Straus, Mr. Wolocki taught at William J. Brennan High School in Northside ISD where he taught the Non-Varsity Bands, Jazz Ensemble, assisted with the Varsity Wind Ensemble and the award winning Bear Marching Band. Mr. Wolocki also taught in San Antonio ISD at G.W. Brackenridge High School and Whittier Middle School. Before moving to San Antonio he was an assistant band director in West Orange-Cove CISD.
Mr. Wolocki performs regularly with the Heart of Texas Concert Band as a member of the clarinet section and has performed several solos with the band. He also performs with the Prickly Pear Clarinet Ensemble, including the group’s 2023 performance at the ICA annual Conference in Denver, Colorado.
Mr. Wolocki earned a Masters in Clarinet Performance from Louisiana State University in 2010, studying with Robert DiLutis. He also holds a Bachelor's Degree from Ithaca College in Music Education.
Mr. Wolocki resides in San Antonio, Texas and enjoys spending time with his wife Ella and their two children Elizabeth and Liam.
