Jean Lake, from New York State via Minnesota, has been happy to call Texas home for nearly three years. She studied clarinet with Charles Bay at Ithaca College as a performance major from 1964-1966, at which time she made a career decision and switched her major field of study to pharmacy. Ms. Lake has practiced Pharmacy since 1971, and still works part time – when she’s not busy playing the clarinet!

Ms. Lake was active musically in Minnesota, as a member of Encore Wind Ensemble, Star of the North Concert Band, Encore Winds Clarinet Choir, and her Woodwind Quintet. Jean & her husband biennially toured Europe & Thailand with Star of the North Concert Band, where they were often featured as soloists with that group.

Jean currently plays with the Helotes Area Community Band. After many years of wonderful performances, Jean retired from regular performances with the Heart of Texas Concert Band and the Prickly Pear Clarinet Ensemble – founded by her and her husband, Robert A Lake.
